Extreme Low Tide at Quartermaster

With everything in town closed (they are slowly and safely reopening now), and no childcare, we have been spending a lot of time at the beach. Last week we had a special day exploring due to "extreme low tide", and when they call it extreme, they aren't kidding! We walked out as far as my kids usually kayak! Life was everywhere, so we walked as cautiously as we could and worked hard to disturb as little as possible.

Here are some fun photos and videos of the cool creatures and items we found.

Our kids decided the curved branch was Maui's Hook (from the Disney movie, Moana)

So many crabs!

I think this may have been the first time I'd seen a live sand dollar. I was enamored!

More little crabs everywhere we looked, looking for shelter. Many tried to hide under our still feet!

Every day is an adventure here on the isthmus between Vashon & Maury. We currently are booked through July 31st, but come check us out in August for some great summer adventures!
